Crews in Chicago Have Been Pulling Zombies Out Of Lake Michigan

November 2014 - Halloween may long be over, but that hasn't stopped zombies from haunting Lake Michigan in Chicago. The dearly undead has been floating about since the unfortunate mishap on Halloween night.

Giving the citizens a true taste of the scary holiday, Chicago braved heavy winds that resulted in causing record high 21-foot waves in some parts of the lakeshore and flooding nearby areas on Halloween.

Owing to Lake Michigan spilling into the adjacent Lakeshore Drive and huge swaths of Chicago's beaches disappearing beneath the waves in what is dubbed as the "Halloween Howler", the city officials even had to close down part of the Lake Michigan and adjacent Lake Shore Drive in the afternoon.

A floating haunted house on the Navy Pier, however, could not be saved from sinking. While over 50 zombies have been pulled out over the course of the week, rescue crews are still hard at work.

Owner of the zombie containment, John LaFlamboy told WGN as he watched divers pull out the 10 large containers that made up the thousand-dollar haunted house, "It's an unbelievable amount of effort that went into it with, painters, prop-builders, costume makers, artists of all variety put their.. life into this thing... So to watch it sink was very heartbreaking for a lot of us."

The high winds and waves "battered it, and battered it until she couldn't take it anymore," says a disheartened LaFlamboy.

After the drowning of the floating haunted house, officials closed down other attractions as well, including the Ferris wheel, Grand Ballroom and East End Plaza.

"It's easily one of the craziest things I have ever seen," says Teila Halpin, who helped build the floating haunted house, as she watched the zombies get pulled out of Lake Michigan by the rescue workers in awe. "Watching them pull it out and just the state that they're all in, its mind boggling the destructive power of nature, and of water," Haplin relates. However, she promises that the "zombie containment will rise again." - International Business Times

Chupacabara in La Vina

09/11/2014 - The Tolaba family reported to the police that "the cat", or whatever, eight animals were devoured. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday.

Residents of La Vina on Wednesday were surprised upon learning that the popular " chupacabras "had destroyed his village. "The chupacabras they went through the Vineyard," they said at the scene.

At dawn on Tuesday, the predator could not yet be identified (believe it is a cat) came down from the hills to devour eight animals.

The town of La Vine is head of the eponymous department and is located about 88 kilometers from the capital of Salta. They live Tolaba several years ago, the family to which the chupacabras snatched their cattle. The vintners quickly learned what happened elsewhere in the province and began taking the necessary steps to care for their animals.
So stay after being attacked animals.
He told the owner of the cattle when they rose early on Wednesday, he met with eight of their animals dead, four goats and four male goats. Desperate and not knowing what had happened, alerted the police. As has happened in such cases, the marks and wounds of the dead animals are similar and in the same place.

Immediately the people began the discussion of what might have caused the killing. What is the chupacabra ?, was the dominant question. Is a ucumar, a puma or a jaguar? And so did the mythological idea that might be, "why not," said some, a Uturunco. The only certainty there so far in this type of situation is something or someone killed eight animals in the Vineyard. Saving the deaths, the same happened in Coronel Cornejo, where they found about 40 goats dead, and in the town of Palomitas were fifteen.

Locals and people he knows are sure that the various facts that occur in the area due to the burning of grasslands on the hills. "When this happens, usually the cats that roam far from the town, in the hills, they decide to go down and the first thing first make attacking livestock priority"said Aldo, a villager. A theory of so many people know and northern disseminates. However, so far neither the same police could identify living things or attacking. Without knowing exactly what is science, you have to keep pointing out that the chupacabra appeared again, this time on the Vineyard. - El Tribuno

Zombie Breaks into Home Bites Woman in the Face Says 'Just a Game'

September 08, 2014 at 10:21 PM, COOS BAY, Ore. —

Authorities in Oregon say a woman has been arrested after breaking in to a house, pushing a woman down the stairs, pulling her hair, biting her on the face and telling her victim she was playing "the zombie game."

Coos County sheriff's Sgt. Pat Downing says Jessica Rocha broke into the home in coastal city of Lakeside early Monday. He says she was drunk and likely high.

Downing says there is no definite explanation for the zombie reference. He says Rocha had property with a sticker that referenced a video game featuring zombies. Deputies also speculate she may have been influenced by a scarecrow contest in the area.

She is held on $77,500 bail and faces arraignment Monday on multiple charges, including assault. There is no immediate record that she has a lawyer. -APNews

Drunken Zombie Santa Wakes Kids Home Alone

An intoxicated stranger dressed as a zombie Santa Claus terrified two teenagers when he entered their St. Paul home over the weekend.
A 14-year-old boy fled from the Macalester-Groveland house to get help and his 16-year-old sister locked herself
in a bathroom, said a neighbor, Margaret Marrinan, who is also a Ramsey County judge.

"This guy ought to be examining his conscience ... for what he did to those kids," she said.

The children were scared but are fine now, Tom Sullivan, their father, said Monday.

"The police did a nice job of calming them down and explaining the individual meant no harm," he said.

"Fortunately, it had a happy ending, and no one will ever think of Santa the same way. If you're going to have a break-in, this is the best kind -- someone who means no harm and was looking for a place to sleep."

Police cited a man who is a University of St. Thomas senior for trespassing. The university is about six blocks from the site of Saturday's incident. A police report didn't say where the man was coming from.

A Zombie Pub Crawl started in Minneapolis at 4 p.m. that day. Saturday was also homecoming at St. Thomas, though there was no zombie theme, a university spokesman said.

Officers were called to a home in the area of Sargent and Cretin avenues at 9:45 p.m. Saturday. They were told that a man had entered the residence wearing a Santa suit and looking like a zombie, said Sgt. Paul Paulos, a St. Paul police spokesman.

The man had vomited and didn't know where he was when police woke him up, Paulos said.

Police cited Brock Quinn Johnson of Roseville for trespassing and took him to the detoxification center, Paulos said. Johnson declined to comment Monday.

Marrinan was home Saturday night when she and her husband heard loud yelling coming from outside. It was a 14-year-old boy who lives on the block, and she said that "he was just beside himself," yelling, "Help!"

"What had happened was so sudden and so unexpected, I think he was sort of in a state of shock," Marrinan said. "I've never heard yelling that loud. I couldn't believe he had the lung power to shout as loudly as he did."

When Marrinan and her husband went to the door, the boy told them, "This guy came into our house, he's dressed like Santa and he has a zombie head," Marrinan said. She said they had the reaction of, "What? Say that again?"
The boy had already called 911 from a cellphone. "This kid is really a together kind of kid who did exactly what he should do," Marrinan said, adding that he was on the verge of hysterics because of concern for his sister.
Sullivan and his wife had been out in the neighborhood and the door to the home was closed, but not locked, he said. The boy was washing dishes when he heard the door open.

"He comes to say 'Hi' to his parents and here's Santa the zombie," Marrinan said. "He freaked out, yelled to his sister, and ran out the back of the house."

The girl locked herself in a bathroom with a cellphone and called her parents, who quickly returned to the house, Marrinan said.

Marrinan said she saw the man when he was brought to a squad car and the boy's description was right -- he was dressed like Santa and looked like a zombie. He wasn't wearing a mask, and Marrinan suspected that makeup caused the zombie effect.

Sullivan and Marrinan said their block, south of St. Thomas, is normally quiet.

The university recently apologized for "noise, disruption and negativity that some neighbors immediately north and east of campus experienced" on the weekend of the football game against St. John's University.

"UST has fielded a number of complaints, a handful of kudos and the beginnings of some real engagement -- among offices on campus and with neighbors -- in working together on solutions to the problems of noise, rowdy partying and public drunkenness," the university emailed neighbors and posted on its website Oct. 2.

The university noted that neighbors to the south and west of campus reported "their weekend generally was quieter than in years past" and that "the vast majority of our students are studious, law-abiding and, yes, fun-loving young people who know how to have a good time without disrespecting others' rights." -Twin Cities.com

175lb Tiger-like Cat Beast Loose in Paris

BREAKING NEWS!

Paw print found as search continues for 'tiger' on prowl near Paris

Soldiers called in to help hunt for the Disneyland Paris "tiger", with fresh paw prints spotted after beast apparently crossed a major highway and slinked past a a petrol station

Police hunt for tiger on the loose near Paris

Police and soldiers hunting for a large cat believed to be on the loose near Paris have shut down a motorway service station after the beast was spotted there a day after it was first seen near the Disneyland theme park.

Motorists were warned to be extra vigilant on the busy A4 motorway after a driver first spotted what he described as a “wandering animal” before dawn on Friday at the service station.

Paw prints believed were later found on the grounds of the service station. However, the National Office for Hunting and Wildlife said it is not a tiger but some other sort of (as yet unidentified) feline. They base their statement on analysis of its paw prints.

The threat level appeared to be downgraded on Friday, with the local director of public safety, Chantal Baccanini, saying there was "no danger for the general population".

"It's between a domestic cat and a bigger feline," said Eric Hansen from the national hunting office ONCFS.

For this reason, the searches were being reduced to just a "security team" looking for the animal in the urban area of Montevrain, next to the Disneyland Paris theme park.

Local authorities had earlier warned inhabitants of a nearby village not to walk in the streets and advised joggers not to use the nearby forest.

The animal would have had to cross the motorway about six miles from the village of Montévrain where it was first seen next to a supermarket car park on Thursday morning.

“Traces of the animal were spotted in the service station grounds in Ferrières-en-Brie … The Total petrol station has been shut,” police said in a statement. The story has gripped France with wall-to-wall coverage on rolling news channels and local Le Parisien newspaper splashing the animal on its front page with the headline: "The unbelievable tiger alert."

Police armed with tranquilliser guns were brought in on Thursday to track the animal, and a dozen soldiers from a nearby army base later joined the hunt for the fearsome beast which was also being tracked from above by a helicopter equipped with thermal imaging.

A dog trained in tracking bears and large game was also helping with the hunt. Police said they would try to sedate the animal once they find it but said they might have to shoot it dead if it presented a threat.

Police in Montrévain, 25 miles east of Paris, right next to the popular Disneyland Paris theme park, stood guard at the four local schools on Friday, as well as at another in the nearby town of Chessy, in case the beast was still in the area.

Jean-François Ameur, told his 12-year-old son to “be careful” as he dropped him off at school in Montrévain.

“It’s still on the loose and it hasn’t eaten. So yes, I am worried,” he said, adding that he like most other parents were making sure their children would not have to walk to or from school.

Tiger expert Gilbert Edelstein, from the Pinder circus, said the best response to coming face-to-face with the stripy beast, thought to weigh around 155 pounds, was to "scream as loud as possible."

"Even better, scream in German. The guttural sounds could scare him away," he told AFP news agency.

What is the beast on the prowl in France?

Authorities were still scratching their heads as to where the feline could have come from.

Locals said that the "tiger" could have escaped from a circus which was in the town the previous week. But the mayor of Montévrain ruled that out. "The circus has been gone since Saturday, and during a health check carried out before the gendarmes did not see any tigers present," said a spokesman for the mayor's office.

Another theory was that it could have escaped from the Parc des Felins, a big cat sanctuary 20 miles from Montévrain. But a spokesman at the sanctuary said they were not aware of any missing animals. - Telegraph . co . uk

(CNN) -- The big cat spotted in the woods east of Paris isn't a tiger after all, French authorities said Friday, citing analysis of the beast's tracks.

Just what kind of feline the French are dealing with remains a bit of a mystery, so police in the Seine-et-Marne department cautioned residents to continue to take care when walking and to avoid wooded areas.

But an official with the National Board of Wildlife and Hunting, Eric Hansen, told CNN affiliate BFM that the cat, whatever it is, poses no danger to people. Witnesses first reported the feline Thursday in an area not from Disneyland Paris. Park visitors weren't in any danger, a spokeswoman said.

Police and other officials armed with dart guns hunted the cat all day Thursday without success.

Many French didn't seem to be seriously worried.

"I think it's more afraid than dangerous," Caroline Dos Santos said Friday.

"For me, I think it's a joke," Jenny Bel Air said.

But Khalil Mabrouk had a plan.

"If I saw the tiger in the street, I would run away," he said. "Really."

Police in the town of Gates tell the Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester that Catherine Butler, 26, of Rochester, was arrested around 2 a.m. Oct. 25 when an officer spotted her driving without her headlights on.
